Keep On
Years ago there was a man who had faced difficult years and always had the same word to the pastor. “We are still trying!” He felt the challenge of Christ amid the difficulties of life and our era of history.
There always has been a challenge to live “a life in Christ” amid the perils of society in every age. The Epistle to the Hebrews was written at the end of the first century when Christians faced the grave persecutions in the Roman Empire under Nero and Diocletian. Hebrews was written to encourage, to guide, and to strengthen those early Christians.
We still need to remember the sound advice given. “Run with patience the race set before you.” Look unto Jesus, the pioneer and completer of your faith! Christ went toward the cross and said “Follow me.”
Still we need to remember that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! From the beginning of the Church we have been reminded that our help and our hope is in the name of the Lord!
Forever we are called to abide in Christ and to grow in His service.
In answer to God’s call in each age to every person let us resolve to “keep on trying” to go forward in, with, and for our Christ! Amen
